StudentCard NZ Limited (SCNZ) is the Promoter.
SCNZ competitions are open to those residing in New Zealand to enter and not limited to StudentCard or Alumni Card members.
Disqualified participants are;
All SCNZ employees, all employees of participating sponsors or promoters and their immediate families; ‘Immediate families’ include spouses, grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren.
All people under the age of 18 years where the prize incorporates any element, which would be illegal to supply to a person under the age of 18 years.
SCNZ reserves the right to exclude any person from participating in the Promotion on reasonable grounds.
These Competition Rules (‘the Rules’) apply to all SCNZ Promotions or Competitions conducted by means of any medium – online, radio, print, experiential, and or via a connected device.
The Rules may change from time to time.
Entry into any competition is deemed to be acceptance of the Rules and the Specific Rules and confirmation that the entrant has the necessary authority to enter the Promotion.
There is no purchase necessary and purchase does not enhance any chance of winning.
SCNZ runs both sweepstakes (random selection) and contests ( where effort is required to enter). Contests may require for example, “upload a picture to your Instagram and tag @StudentCardNZto enter to win”). SCNZ will detail what we are looking for specifically for the photo in the rules listed for that specific sweepstakes or contest.
SCNZ “sweepstakes” competitions require entrants to comment their name, email and SCNZ number on a blog post, or social media image to enter to win. Those who are not StudentCard or Alumni Card members enter with their name and email address. Often times these competitions will run simultaneously on social media and through the blog or events page.
This is to allow entrants who may not have access to social media to enter. It will be outlined if entering in both places will count as multiple entries and increases your chance of winning. Unless otherwise stated in the Specific Rules, a person’s entry or vote is limited to 1 per person. Where multiple registrations, entries or votes are acceptable, each must be made separately.
SCNZ may run contests that run solely from StudentCard.co.nz or @StudentCard NZ social media, but this does not limit members of Alumni Card from entering. “Alumni Card” and Alumnicard.co.nz is a subsidiary of SCNZ.
The Prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable. No other family members, friends, or any other person will be able to participate on the Winner’s behalf. In the event that the Prize specified in the Competition becomes unavailable for any reason the Promoter may substitute a prize of like or equal value.
Where the Winner is required to claim the prize in person, they must provide proper identification (eg driver’s licence, passport, birth certificate). If the Winner is under the age of 18 years their parent or legal guardian may be required to accompany the Winner or give their prior written consent to the award of the Prize.
The Winner takes the Prize entirely at his/her own risk and indemnifies SCNZ in respect of any claim for any accident, injury, property damage or loss of life that may occur in connection with the prize. The Winner is responsible for all insurance, tax or other costs that may be associated with the Prize. Where the Prize has associated terms and conditions the Winner accepts the Prize subject to those terms and conditions and restrictions.
Use of the winner’s name or information for public display will be confirmed by the winner.
SCNZ reserves the right to refuse to award any prize to an entrant who SCNZ decides (in its sole discretion) has violated the Rules (including the Specific Rules), and gained unfair advantage in participating in the Promotion or won using fraudulent means.
Sweepstakes and contests run by SCNZ are not sponsored by or affiliated with Facebook or Instagram.
SCNZ “contest” competitions that require efforts such as uploading a photo, will detail what we are looking for specifically for the photo in rules listed for that contest. If the “contest” competition is to win an adventure voucher and we ask for an “adventure” photo it will detail for entrants to “upload a photo that displays you (entrant) having an adventure, such as hiking, bungee jumping, on a road trip, camping, having fun with your friends etc.” The photo must be tagged properly based on the rules, so if it says tag “@StudentCardNZ ” on Instagram it must be displayed exactly like that with no spaces. An entry tagged with “@ Student Card NZ” for example, would not be counted. It will be detailed if multiple photo uploads count as multiple entries. If there are additional ways of submitting a photo entry it will be outlined in the blog post for that contest.
For every sweepstakes and contest SCNZ may run, a clear description of the prize will be outlined in the respective news or blog page detailing the competition, along with the date the competition will end and the date the winner will be notified. Winners are generally notified the day after the “sweepstakes” or “contest” competition closes.
Many prizes are sent directly from our brand and discount partners, so the winner will be notified as to when to expect their prize and whether it is sent via email or postal service. SCNZ is not liable if the winner does not provide the correct mailing address, or email address to receive their prize.
Only the person who originally entered the “Sweepstakes” or “contest” competition can be awarded the prize (the ‘Winner’). The Winner will be determined in the manner set out in the Rules or the Specific Rules – if not specified then as determined by the Promoter who shall for this purpose be deemed the judge (the ‘Judge’). The Judge’s determination of the Winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winner may be notified by email, Facebook messenger, voice, text, mail or in person and must be available for the preparation of all publicity that may be required by SCNZ.
The winner must reside in New Zealand as prizes are not shipped overseas.
Winner’s address and contact information will be confirmed when they are notified of winning, along with written consent for use of winner’s name, characters, photographs, videos, voices and likeness in connection with the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes and waive any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for such use.
All entrant personal details must be valid and up to date and will be held by SCNZ and may be used for the purpose of the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes in accordance with SCNZ’s Privacy Policy unless otherwise directed by contestants at the time of entry. Personal information provided at the time of entry is presumed to be true.
Where attempts to contact the Winner fail (eg when the Winner cannot be contacted by phone after three attempts or mail sent is returned) the Judge will select another winner. If, after successful notification, the prize is not collected within one months of being announced it will be regarded as forfeit.
If we are running a competition or promotion for a discount partner or another brand, which asks you to provide personal information such as your name or email address, then we may share the data collected within that competition or promotion with the respective discount partner or the brand. This will be made clear to you at the time of entry to the promotion, and may be a condition of entering the promotion, or you may be required to opt in to receive further communication from the brand. We will not share any other data collected from you at any other time - say for example when you signed up for your card.
Any data collected during the competitions is collected by SCNZ, not Facebook.
Apple, and Samsung Not Affiliated
Neither Apple, Samsung nor any other Handset or tablet manufacturer are in any way affiliated or associated with the competitions, the fact that the competition appears in the SCNZ ‘StudentCard’ or ‘AlumniCard’ apps on a Samsung or Apple or Apple device does not mean that there is any connection or sponsorship of the promotion by the handset or tablet manufacturer.
SCNZ reserves the right to amend, vary, extend or discontinue a Promotion at any stage, for any reason.
SCNZ takes no responsibility for any inability to enter, complete, continue or conclude the Promotion due to equipment or technical malfunction. To the fullest extent permitted by law SCNZ will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for personal injury as a result of Promotion entry or winning the prize.
Where the Prize is to be supplied by an entity outside SCNZ control and that entity fails, for whatever reason, to supply the prize, SCNZ has no responsibility for the provision of the Prize and is not obliged to provide an alternative Prize or to take legal action to require the Prize supplier to provide the Prize.
Participation in SCNZ competitions is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
If the Winner does not accept these Terms and Conditions the prize will be forfeited
